Our New R&D Product Offering All-in-One Solution: Fireproof, Water Repellent and Insect Repellent Fabric
As Raff Military Textile, we are honored to introduce to you our new R&D product, which is the final result of our long work in 2023.
A ground-breaking fabric has been developed after tests in the textile field yielded positive results. This fabric will redefine the standards of protection for military personnel in tropical regions, especially in Africa, as Raff Military Textile has successfully integrated insect repellent fabrics into military uniforms, creating a unique shield against the various threats faced by brave military personnel in uniform. What’s more, this newly designed fabric also incorporates water repellent and fireproof properties essential for military uniforms.
Permethrin: The Most Powerful Protective Agent Against Insect Threats
At the core of this innovation is Permethrin, a powerful insect repellent seamlessly integrated into the fabric. A synthetic version of a natural insect repellent found in chrysanthemum flowers, Permethrin disrupts the nervous system of insects, neutralizing and repelling them. Unlike traditional insect repellent treatments, the Permethrin component of our fabric is permanent and provides long-lasting protection against dangerous insect species common in tropical regions of Africa. Permethrin does not cause any allergic reaction and does not also harm human health.
Africa is home to a myriad of insect species that pose significant threats to military personnel, from malaria-carrying mosquitoes to ticks that transmit diseases such as Lyme disease and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever. Our brand Raff Military Textile, which carries out the majority of its exports to Africa, has therefore developed insect-repellent fabrics to find a solution to the problem here. Our fabric acts as a powerful defense by creating a barrier against all these insects and reducing the risk of debilitating diseases. This minimizes the risks of lurking dangers in dense forests and arid terrains where military operations are often conducted.
Our Insect Repellent, Fireproof and Water Repellent fabrics are produced in four different combinations (according to your request);
1. Aramid / Viscose: Light Shield
• Composition: Aramid Viscose
• Weight: 230 g/m²
• Properties: Fireproof, knitted fabric, water repellent and insect repellent (Permethrin)
2. Nylon / FR Viscose: Versatile Defender
• Composition: 64% FR Viscose, 25% Para Aramid, 10% Nylon, 1% Antistatic
• Weight: 200/220 g/m²
• Properties: Ripstop, fireproof, water repellent and insect repellent (Permethrin)
3. 50% Nylon / 50% FR Viscose: Balanced Protector
• Composition: 50% Nylon, 50% FR Viscose
• Weight: 230 g/m²
• Properties: Water repellent, insect repellent (Permethrin) and fireproof
4. 60% Acrylic – 40% FR Viscose: All Weather Protection
• Composition: 60% Acrylic, 40% FR Viscose
• Elastane Body Fabric
• Properties: Insect repellent (Permethrin), water repellent and fireproof
